This Almost Never Happens (Nick Version)

Erin was just – I don’t know – different. She sang different songs, she liked different movies, she laughed more than anyone. I didn’t know what to do with a girl like her, so I drove her up to Lacey Springs to look at stars and hopefully see meteor. We lay elbow to elbow on the hood of my car while Miles Davis and his band gave it their all below us. Erin spotted the first shooting star. Then another and another. Soon, we had a full-fledged meteor shower. “This almost never happens!” I said. Erin laughed and laughed.
