The Day the Internet Stopped

After breakfast, Alex read the newspaper to Samantha, who sat on his lap, holding Little Polly high enough that she could see the paper, too.

Alex went to work, where he and his colleagues sat around a table and paid attention and listened to each other. Decisions were made by the group, for the good of the whole, and everyone went home satisfied.

Before dinner, Alex and Marie sat by each other at the kitchen table, opening mail and laughing about their days, while Samantha looked at a book about bugs. After dinner, the family played LIFE and Samantha won.
