The Case of the Missing Dragon

“What? Well where did he go?”

“I don’t know, your majesty. The caves are empty. Well, the bones are still there, but the treasure is all gone.”

The King rose slowly from his Throne. “But… if our enemies learn Midz-Aset no longer protects our walls, they will gather in their multitudes and set upon us like a pack of dogs!”

“Yes, Your Majesty…”

“Our tribute, was it late?”

“No, your majesty!”

“But why would he leave? He had only to reap the benefits of his past efforts! Our enemies have not attacked in decades!”

“Perhaps it was boredom, Your Majesty.”
