she walked backwards out the room

Five seconds after the fact the gun felt heavy in her hands. She lowered her arms feeling an ache start to form in her elbows. This was a new strain on her body, a position it wasn’t used to. Muscles and joints protested the change. Ten seconds after the fact the truth hit her, heavier than the weight of the gun. His body was still, blood pooling over the light beige carpet. Thirty seconds after the fact, the fear hit her. Her hands fumbled to rid themselves of the gun. Her feet fumbled to get her out of the room.
