Private Property (Nick Version)

You know how people say it’s like a movie when something terrible happens? I used to think that common notion was a sad symptom of our overmediated culture, that no one could have an original experience anymore. But then I was watching The Late Show with the lights out, Jan was upstairs, and I heard this deep thumping coming from the kitchen. By the time I got up, the son of a bitch smashed the window and let himself in. He pushed me down over the coffee table and I swear, from that angle, it really looked like a movie.
