Over 9000!

In 1982, Gamma Blaster became the number one obsession of the world’s youth. It was like a cross between Asteroids and Breakout, which made it easy to pick up. What really got you hooked was its bold promise that if you scored over 9000 points, you would be given a mutant superpower, via the Blaster Eye at the top of the console.

Grant scored over 9000. Suddenly solemn, he turned to Mike and said, “Take your face off.”

Using his fingernails, Mike made a crude laceration around his jaw and, like a Halloween mask, peeled off his own face.
