1967

“Always take the chance, boy,” the Grandfather told his youngest grandson. They were outside and the summer was finally leaving. “I was walking to the store one time. There she was, walking towards me. Good lord. Fine as wine. And I love your grandmother. But this girl? Whew! Lips and hips with clips! We were sharing the sidewalk. And we passed. And I never said nothing. I never said nothing. Do you know how long I’ve thought about that? That I should have said something? Years and years. And that was all the way back in sixty-seven or so.”
