David was one second away from closing the screen door on Mark for good.

“And you’re saying you haven’t changed?” Mark said. “You never drank in high school, and you do now. That’s different.”

“Because it was illegal – look, don’t skirt the issue. You pissed in a guy’s beer.”

“That’s ’cause he was being a dick. Come on, you remember, people used to literally push me down and I just took it – and you just stood there. And on the way home from school, we’d just laugh about it.”

“I’m not laughing now.”

“And I wasn’t laughing then. Not really.”
