How I Remember Your Father

Dave sipped his pint and placed it back on the sticky table. Steve sat staring back at him blankly.

“Go on…” said Steve.

“Well, he’s like the tooth fairy isn’t he? I mean, coming along in the middle of the night, taking away your discarded bits and pieces… careful not to make a sound, fearful of being discovered, before riding off into the night on his mechanical chariot…”

“The tooth fairy?” said Steve.

“Yeah, well, without the money and pillow thing… and teeth and stuff.”

Dave sipped his pint.

Steve stared at him, bewildered…”Dave?”

“What?”

“My Dad’s a bin man.”
