Good job destroying it, hero.

Everywhere, there was ruin. His city was a smoking wreck laid to rubble all around him. He wasn’t sure what happened to his legs, but he was certain they weren’t connected to him anymore. Linda was gone. His daughter was gone. Everything and everyone he loved was gone. He looked down at his hand, still clutching the box that was supposed to trigger the intercepting missile. He shook it hard, heard something rattle. He didn’t know what went wrong – a loose wire maybe. It wasn’t his fault. It’s not like he could’ve tested it first. And now, everything, gone.
