She never saw The Wonder Years; she wasn’t even born until the third season. She’s flipping through channels on a hungover Sunday when she sees the listing for Little Monsters with the guy from Deal or No Deal. She watches it ironically, ha cute kid, she thinks, but by the last scene, the “Road to Nowhere” race, she’s invested. She’s rooting for that cute kid, wondering what he looks like now, what ever happened to him, wonders if he still has monsters under his bed. She clicks around IMDB and — oh crap, gross, it’s that “Mole” guy from Austin Powers.
